Dana to Wadi Ghuweir Trail Overview: Distance: 28 km (17 miles) So it’s a bit challenging but manageable for experienced hikers or those who are used to long walks. Trail Highlights: Day 1: Dana Village to Wadi Ghuweir Camp Start Point: Dana Village End Point: Wadi Ghuweir (Camp Site or End of Day 1 Stop) Distance: Approx. 14 km (8.7 miles) Estimated Time: 5–7 hours Morning: Start at Dana Village Begin your hike early from Dana Village, a picturesque village perched high on the mountain ridge, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and desert landscape. Take some time to explore the village before heading out. Descent into Feynan Valley Start the descent into Feynan Valley. The trail will take you through areas of lush greenery, terraced farmlands, and valleys. The terrain is rocky at first, but the scenery is mesmerizing, with a mix of desert and fertile land. Afternoon: Pass by Feynan Lodge Area You may pass near Feynan Lodge, a sustainable eco-lodge, where you can take a break if needed (though it’s not a mandatory stop). Continue down the valley, crossing a few small streams and passing through areas of sparse vegetation and rugged rock formations. Reach Wadi Ghuweir Camp Arrive at the base of Wadi Ghuweir, the narrow gorge that marks the end of your day’s hike. Set up camp for the night . Day 2: Wadi Ghuweir to End of Trail Start Point: Wadi Ghuweir End Point: Wadi Ghuweir (Finish Trail or Continue) Distance: Approx. 14 km (8.7 miles) Estimated Time: 5–7 hours Morning: Explore Wadi Ghuweir Start your day by exploring the spectacular Wadi Ghuweir gorge. The narrow gorge, surrounded by steep cliffs and unique rock formations, provides a serene setting to take photos or simply appreciate nature’s wonders. Cross freshwater streams and take your time walking through the cool, shaded parts of the valley. Continue Hike: If you're taking the longer version of the hike, follow the trail as it meanders through narrow passages and across dry riverbeds. Continue exploring the terrain until you reach the end of the trail, either returning back to Dana or connecting to the nearby town or area. Afternoon: Finish the Hike and Return
